Digital Scrapbooking: Display Your Pages Online

Digital scrapbooking is a lot of fun, but what do you do with the results? It's not like a traditional scrapbook where you can just display it for friends and family, and the idea of everyone crowding around your computer to witness your handiwork isn't all that pleasant.

There are many ways to display a digital scrapbook, though -- and it can actually be more versatile than a physical paper scrapbook. Here are some thoughts on how you can show off your digital scrapbooks.

1. Print them off

Want to stick with tradition, but love digital scrapbooking? No problem -- print off your scrapbook pages and stick them in an actual book. Just make sure you use a high quality printer so you don't destroy your careful work.

2. Display them on Facebook or file sharing sites.

Do you upload your photos to Facebook, Flickr, or the like? You can just as easily upload digital scrapbook pages. Simply save the entire file as a jpeg, and upload it as you would a photo. That way all of your Facebook friends can enjoy your results.

3. Display them in a digital photo frame.

If you choose to do this, consider the photo frame's size: if it's an 8 X 10 frame, you'll want to create 8 X 10 scrapbook pages. The fun thing with this method? You can create as many beautiful digital scrapbooks as you like and keep the pages rotating for everyone to see.

4. Set them as your computer desktop

We've all set photos we enjoy as our computer desktops -- why not use a digital scrapbook page? That way, your whole family can enjoy your work every time they sit down to use the computer, and if you cycle the pages every few weeks, you'll always have something new to look at.

5. Turn them into postcards, calendars, etc.

Whatever you can do with a photograph, you can do with a digital scrapbook page. All you have to do is make sure you save it as a jpeg, and you've basically got a digital photo of your scrapbook page.

With that in mind, think about all the things you can do with photos. You can transform them into coffee mugs, calendars, even blankets. If you create a particularly wonderful scrapbook page, transform it into a fantastic gift by using it on any of these objects.

Many people are reluctant to try digital scrapbooking because they don't know what they'll do with all of those digital scrapbooks. There's a sense that digital scrapbooks are more limiting than the ones you cut out by hand. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. With a digital scrapbook, you can print it out and display it just like you would any other scrapbook -- you just have more options to work with.

Don't let anyone tell you digital scrapbooking limits your creativity!
